Frequently asked questions

What is an Opera Poster?

An Opera Poster by United Colors of Naples is a one-of-a-kind piece of art born from a song, a poem or a line that belongs to you. Not digital prints, but one-of-a-kind pieces of art: every piece is made by hand in our workshop in Spaccanapoli, in the heart of Naples, inside Palazzo Diomede Carafa, on 390gsm Fedrigoni Acquerello paper, with typographic and intaglio inks coloured by hand, pass after pass. Each piece carries the United Colors of Naples blind stamp and a certificate of authenticity, dated and embossed, signed by the artist. You can pick one from the collection dedicated to the great Italian songwriters, such as Lucio Dalla, Fabrizio De André, Lucio Battisti and Pino Daniele, or create your own with the line, colour and size you love (A4, 35×50, 50×70, 70×100 cm), framed by hand if you like. It is ready in 7–10 working days, with free shipping to Italy and most of Europe.

How is an Opera Poster made?

It takes 7–10 working days. Each piece is designed around the song you chose, typeset by hand, made by hand on 390gsm Fedrigoni paper and finished with a certificate of authenticity, dated and embossed, signed by the artist. No automated machines: every piece is made by a single person.

How much does an Opera Poster cost?

Opera Posters by United Colors of Naples start at €60 in Italy and most of Europe. The price includes the piece, its certificate of authenticity and free shipping to Italy and most of Europe.

Can I personalise it with any song?

Yes. In the personaliser on our site you write your own line (a lyric, a poem, a dedication), choose the colour, size and frame, see a live preview of your piece and add it to your cart. Then we make it by hand for you.

How long until I receive it?

Production takes 7–10 working days from your order, up to 13 for the 70x100 size and framed pieces. Delivery is express, 24/48 hours in Italy and Europe. Estimated total: 8–12 working days from your order date (up to 15 with a frame or the 70x100 size).

Is shipping free?

Yes. Free shipping to Italy and most of Europe, on all orders.

Is every Opera Poster one of a kind?

Yes. Every Opera Poster is a one-of-a-kind piece of art: it is made by hand just for you, when you order. Every piece comes with a certificate of authenticity, dated and embossed, signed by the artist.

Can I have my Opera Poster framed?

Yes. You choose the frame right in the personaliser: black, white or natural wood, with clear PMMA, built by hand to size for every format (from €19 for A4 to €79 for 70x100).
