Work description

Ho sbagliato tante volte ormai, che lo so già.

L'Appuntamento, Ornella Vanoni. Text by Bruno Lauzi.

If there's one thing I'll never regret, it's every single one of my mistakes.
The new ones, the old ones, the damned repeated ones and the ones I kept coming back to.
The kind where, while you're doing something, you think "this is about to happen" — and, right on cue, that's exactly what happens, exactly when it was always going to. Like doing something stupid, like pouring something out, knowing full well the whole thing is precarious, and yet you carry on regardless, undeterred, until precisely what you'd pictured actually happens.
Then there are the more serious mistakes — the ones made carelessly, with little respect for someone else — and those are exactly the ones to avoid. The ones where you learn how it's done, and then try to do things properly.
Then there are the fatal ones — the kind you make as a kid, or as a teenager, maybe on a motorbike, or driving home wrecked, somehow arriving home without knowing quite how, or where you'd been.
The mistakes you make when you get lost and can't find yourself again — random ones, basically, for no reason at all.
The kind that, when you think about them, give you this nervous tic between your jaw and your neck, that catches you wherever you are, at any random moment, out of nowhere.
Then there are all those other mistakes, the things never understood, all those things maybe never taken care of — but that, in the end, brought me here, right to this exact moment, standing in front of you.
Still standing, though.

Every Opera Poster is made by hand, just for you. There's no warehouse of finished pieces — each one is created only when you order it.

Every Opera Poster is a one-of-a-kind piece of art, signed, dated and embossed. With a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.

Every Opera Poster is made in Naples, with love — plenty of it (assaje, as we say around here).

Available with a frame.

I've messed up so many times by now that I already know it.

How it is made
01
Typographic Design
The text is composed and balanced by hand, seeking the right rhythm between negative and positive space.
02
Letterpress printing
Letterpress inks on 390gsm Fedrigoni paper. Each pass is unique: the pressure leaves its mark on the back too.
03
Signature and Hallmarking
Each artwork is signed by the artist and embossed with the UCN dry seal.
It's worth knowing

We are not a print shop. We are an artisan workshop in Naples where each work is born from a discussion about the song, the artist's history, and the meaning of those words for those who have experienced them.

Every piece that leaves our workshop is unique. Not for marketing purposes, but by nature: typography is not a perfectly reproducible process. The mark remains.
