What is an Opera Poster?

An Opera Poster by United Colors of Naples is a one-of-a-kind piece of art born from a song, a poem or a line that belongs to you. Not digital prints, but one-of-a-kind pieces of art: every piece is made by hand in our workshop in Spaccanapoli, in the heart of Naples, inside Palazzo Diomede Carafa, on 390gsm Fedrigoni Acquerello paper, with typographic and intaglio inks coloured by hand, pass after pass. Each piece carries the United Colors of Naples blind stamp and a certificate of authenticity, dated and embossed, signed by the artist. You can pick one from the collection dedicated to the great Italian songwriters, such as Lucio Dalla, Fabrizio De André, Lucio Battisti and Pino Daniele, or create your own with the line, colour and size you love (A4, 35×50, 50×70, 70×100 cm), framed by hand if you like. It is ready in 7–10 working days, with free shipping to Italy and most of Europe.

About this piece

"Even when we are tired then,
we will find a way to navigate in the dark."

Poetica is the song of those who know it's worth it.
This is its Opera Poster. Just for you — from €69.

There is a moment, before opening something
that has been long awaited —
those suspended seconds where everything is still possible,
fragile and beautiful at the same time.

Poetica lives in that moment.
Not in certainty. In the courage to be in it.

An Opera Poster doesn't explain that feeling.
It recreates it every time you look at it.

Do you want your own color? Click Customize.

Why gift it (or gift it to yourself).

Poetica is the song of those who love with clarity —
knowing it will be difficult, and choosing it anyway.

An Opera Poster is not forgotten.
It doesn't end up in a drawer. It doesn't fade.
It is hung, and every time you look at it
that song starts again.

How it's made

01

Typographic design

The text is set and balanced by hand, in search of the right rhythm between empty and full space.

02

Made by hand

Letterpress inks on Fedrigoni 390gsm paper. Every pass is unique: the pressure leaves its mark on the back, too.

03

Signature and hallmark

Each piece is signed by the artist and blind-embossed with the UCN seal.

Good to know

We're not a print shop. We're a craft workshop in Naples, where every piece is born from a dialogue with the song, with the artist's story, with what those words meant to the people who lived them.

Every piece that leaves our workshop is unique. Not as a marketing line, but by nature: letterpress is not a perfectly repeatable process. The mark stays.
