Work description

"Dai diamanti non nasce niente, dal letame nascono i fior."

Via Del Campo, Fabrizio De André

The evening before the morning when things finally change is always a strange evening.
Except the evening before is never just one evening before — it's many evenings before.
Because the morning when things change makes you wait. A long time.
And it's not just that it makes you wait — it wants you, at some point, to connect all the dots you'd been turning over on all those evenings before, and suddenly say, okay.
A lot of the time, though, during those evenings before, you forget some things — you see them, but then they get lost among the millions of photons hitting your brain, and you wonder where that thought went.
You can't think that thought alone, on just one of the evenings before.
You can only think it once you've thought all the other thoughts across all the evenings before — all of them.
And one thing all the evenings before the morning when things change have in common is pain.
So much pain that you've gotten really good at not showing it, not letting it be felt.
Because your pain is your pain, and there's no point even talking about it — that's just how it is.
And all that pain, across all the evenings before the morning when things change, is so much. So much. So much.
Uncontrollable, like.
But all that pain, across all those evenings before, is there for a reason — to get you, in the end, to do something simple: to let yourself be seen, be felt, right on that morning, when things change.
And there's no such thing as change without pain.
Like when a star decides to be born, like.

How it is made
01
Typographic Design
The text is composed and balanced by hand, seeking the right rhythm between negative and positive space.
02
Letterpress printing
Letterpress inks on 390gsm Fedrigoni paper. Each pass is unique: the pressure leaves its mark on the back too.
03
Signature and Hallmarking
Each artwork is signed by the artist and embossed with the UCN dry seal.
It's worth knowing

We are not a print shop. We are an artisan workshop in Naples where each work is born from a discussion about the song, the artist's history, and the meaning of those words for those who have experienced them.

Every piece that leaves our workshop is unique. Not for marketing purposes, but by nature: typography is not a perfectly reproducible process. The mark remains.
